Dave, Banstead Road Garage: engine flush in every service

Dave has worked at Banstead Road Garage in Carshalton for over 20 years and has run it for about eight. He says the garage does about 100 services a month. We filmed him in the workshop on 6 November 2025.

In the video he explains how TEC 2000 engine flush and fuel treatment go into every service, and when he uses oil booster. He recalls the test with two test tubes that David from TEC 2000 UK (the Dave he mentions) carried out when he first came in to sell the garage his products. Then he goes through three cases: a V8 Jaguar that failed its emissions twice, a Transit that was smoking badly, and a customer who came back after a service convinced his oil had not been changed.

Narrator (TEC 2000): Dave is a mechanic at Banstead Road Garage in England. He has worked there for more than twenty years. He puts TEC 2000 through every service that comes in, and one of his customers came back to complain that the oil had not been changed.

Dave: It's been a garage here for over 100 years. I've been working here for over 20, running it for about eight years now. We do about 100 services a month. We use TEC 2000 products, as you can see here. We use them on every service: engine flush, fuel treatment. We also have oil booster, so we use that if certain Minis burn oil, Audis. That helps reduce the amount of oil the cars burn.

Dave: I can remember when Dave first came in to sell us his products. He carried out a test with a previous product we used to use, using two test tubes, and we could see on the TEC 2000 test tube that there was no residue or sludge or dirt on the side of the test tube. So we could actually physically see the product was working through the glass as opposed to assuming it would work in the engine.

Dave: We have some posters in the office and if anybody questions what are the additives we're using, we can show them the posters, and then also we can tell them that they can view the videos online and see the results for themselves.

Dave: If it fails the MOT and we do an engine flush and a oil filter, then you can see the results on the hydrocarbons are a lot lower than what they were previously.

Dave: We had a Jaguar in, V8, that failed its emissions. Took it for a drive, brought it back, it still failed the emissions again. We added a engine flush in it, changed the engine oil, oil filter, run an emissions test on it, and then it passed the emissions straight away. So a full service was not needed.

Dave: Customer left happy knowing that they didn't have to then spend further money on paying for a full service.

Dave: We had a Transit in that was smoking quite badly, as some of them do. We did an engine flush, a fuel treatment, and also a can of oil booster. Drove the car on a extended road test, brought the car back, and we could see that the smoke was less and it wouldn't sting your eyes as much when you were standing in the workshop next to it.

Dave: We had one customer come in after a service and accused us of not changing his oil or forgetting to change his oil. So I produced my phone to get the CCTV out, and then when I showed him the video that we did indeed change the oil, I went out and checked the guy's engine oil and the oil was so clean he just assumed that it hadn't have been changed.

Dave: So I can only really put that down to the TEC 2000 product flushing all the contaminants out of the engine and making the engine a lot cleaner from the inside, which you can't see.
